Avondyke Christmas Camp
Our Annual Chritmas Camp was, as usual, a fun filled weekend. For the second year running, it was held inside Avondyke Scout Centre.
On the friday we arrived we unpacked, got everything inside the centre, soon followed by Fergus (one of our group leaders) preparing Pakora and a few other snacks.
On the Saturday, as usual, we all took part in a hike with the exception of a few who stayed behind to either prepare christmas dinner or reherse for the Kildrum Church Panto. This year, there was a twist to the hike where we had to complete different activities as two different teams while out on the hike. Once we got back we had a little time to ourselves before attending a Scouts Own, soon followed by christmas dinner later followed by a "campfire" singalong.
Finally, on the sunday, badges were awarded and everything packed away. The team with the most points from the incident hike was annonced and they were Team 2, all team members won a chocolate santa. Overall, a fun weekend was had as allways.
Can't wait until next years Christmas Camp!!!
A DVD with video's and photo's of the camp is available for all of those that attended. The DVD will cost 50p and all proceeds will go to group funds.
Glasgow Gang Show 2009
Our Scout Group went to see the Glasgow Gang Show for the second year running, although for many of our scouts, it was their first time. Most of our explorers saw it last year. We all thouroughly enjoyed the performance and many of us thought it was also really funny (especially the part where 6 boys were prancing around the stage in tutu's).
The video's of the Glasgow Gang Show performance can be found in the "Multimedia" section of this website under the heading video's.
